There is something very reassuring about a weathervane. They are there for our use and enjoyment. Over time, a weathervane has been a valuable tool in planning the day’s activities. The weathervane is sometimes called a wind vane. Its purpose is to advise us as to the direction of the wind. The best, most accurate results are obtained when the vane is attached to a high surface where the wind currents flow with less interference. We learn a lot about our weather when we check the wind and the sky conditions. Usually the weathervane has a balanced configuration that allows the guides to rotate according to wind direction and velocity. Each weathervane has a distinguishable pointer. This pointer must have freedom of motion so that it can rotate in a manner enabling it to demonstrate the source direction of the wind current.
